Honor Thy Mentor at Jan. 3 Meeting

International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 50: The National Capital Ring

Honor Thy Mentor at Jan. 3 Meeting

mentors

Many magicians have learned from a mentor. Some have several.  Some mentors offered one-on-one personal instruction and assistance. Some mentors were virtual or recorded.

Ring 50 members will have the opportunity to pay tribute to a mentor at the January 3rd meeting. It will be open mic night with the theme being to do a routine from your favorite mentor—someone who has influenced your magic.

Routines can be suitable for stage or parlor.  Close up magic requiring a table may also be performed.  We’ll set up a table at the front, but audience members may have to stand.

Don’t be surprised if more than one magician shows a routine inspired by the late Darwin Ortiz, a friend to many Ring 50 members and a world-renown master of card magic.

If you would like to perform, please contact Ring 50 President Marc Carrion at president@ibmring50.org

Ring 50 meets the first Wednesday of every month at The Lyceum, 201 S. Washington St., Alexandria, Va.

Member magic sales are open at 7 p.m.  The general meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

The Capital Conjurors hold a class from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE ROOM UNTIL 7 P.M.
